Current Status: unknown
The Solano Transportation Authority (STA), the
Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC), and Caltrans are working
to construct 36 miles of express lanes on I-80, similar to the ones in
Contra Costa and Alameda counties. These toll lanes would be split into
two segments: a west segment going from Red Top Road to Air Base Parkway
that would repurpose existing HOV lanes, and an east segment that would
construct new toll lanes from Air Base Parkway to I-505 in Vacaville.
Like other toll lanes in the Bay Area, these new lanes would require the driver to have FasTrak or a FasTrak Flex in their car to pay the toll. Drivers with FasTrak Flex would be able to drive in the toll lane for free.
